On March 1 and 2, 2014, coinciding with the festival of the balearic islands day, the I’MPOSSIBLE365 team carried out the IMSOMNI project, which consisted of carrying out 3 IRONMAN distance triathlons in NON STOP format, with a total of 678 kms whose purpose was to give visibility and collect clothing and food for homeless people in the city of Palma de Mallorca. Judges from the Balearic Triathlon Federation accompanied us at all times to monitor and validate the circuits and distances made.

At 00:00 hours on Saturday, March 1, with our athlete José Manuel López, we began at the Son Hugo pool with the presence of the authorities to cover the first 3,800m swimming. Once finished, we went out to ride all night with the bicycle around the island of Mallorca until we completed the 180 kms.
Then we cover the 42,195 km running of the marathon along the Palma promenade to finish the first IRONMAN distance triathlon.

After a brief massage we started the 2nd consecutive IRONMAN distance triathlon, swimming in the cold and moving waters of the bay of Palma that caused hypothermia in José Manuel, having to supply him with warm saline to restore his temperature. We continued the adventure pedaling 180 km through our island geography, night falling again, this time in the rain, making the experience even more difficult. Warmly covered, we covered this 2nd marathon along the seafront of Palma, El Molinar, running to Arenal.
Another little massage and we move back to the Son Hugo pool for the last 3,800 m of swimming. After 2 nights without sleep, José Manuel began to notice the passing of the hours of exercise and the kilometers that he carried.

We moved to the PALMA ARENA velodrome to complete the 720 laps and thus cover the 180 km circling the cycle track. The last 10 km sharing pedaling with world champion Joan Llaneras was wonderful. To reach the 678 km of INSOMNI, José Manuel traveled the last 42 km at the top of the velodrome, of course, accompanied by many friends who joined this beautiful project.
We successfully completed the IMSOMNI project in 45 hours, this being the 53rd IRONMAN of the project that seeks to carry out the largest number of IRONMAN distance triathlons in 1 year, achieving equal to the current record.
